About Cowboys & Tigers
Cowboys & Tigers was born out of a love of home. As a Texan living abroad, I found that every time I came back to visit, I was looking for pieces of Texas to take back overseas with me. Things to remind me of home, but also represent where I come from.
I realized a bandana was the perfect solution, as it’s a timeless and stylish accessory that sits firmly within the Texan identity, while also transcending borders in its appeal. However, I struggled to find one I loved that was actually from Texas.
And from that, the mission for Cowboys & Tigers was born: to create a bandana brand that enables you to wear a piece of Texas, no matter where you're from.
The icing on the cake was learning that bandanas are originally from India, with the word likely derived from the Hindi bāndhnā (बाँधना), “to tie.” My maternal grandmother is Indian, so it felt like lovely kismet to embark on an adventure dedicated to an object connected to two very different sides of my heritage: Texas and India. Hence the name, Cowboys & Tigers.
So, whether you’re looking for the perfect piece to complete an outfit, or simply need something handy to wipe away the summer heat, I hope a Cowboys & Tigers bandana can bring a little sunshine to your day.

About our bandanas
While at their heart, bandanas are simple things, we were very particular about what we wanted for Cowboys & Tigers:
- Our 100% cotton bandanas are hand printed using discharge printing, meaning the ink is embedded into the cotton, ensuring a double-sided design and zero hand-feel.
- Our bandanas are soft from the get-go, so that you can wear it the moment you open your order.
- Some bandanas have one unfinished selvedge edge, but we thought it was worth having all four sides hemmed for a cohesive look.
- It makes us sad when the focus of a design is in the center of the bandana, meaning you lose it when folded. That's why these bandanas have been designed so if folded on the diagonal, you can either showcase the design, or flip it for a different look.

Howdy! I'm Selina Strasburger from Austin, Texas. While I've been lucky enough to spend most of the last 15 years having adventures in Shanghai, Singapore, and London, I've always been proud to call Austin my hometown. I've spent my career in advertising and marketing helping brands tell their stories, and am excited to now talk about bandanas until the longhorns come home.
